The project

The public website of Switzerland's busiest airport. Flight information, parking, shopping and services for passengers, retail and operations, all on one platform. Named World's Best Airport Website at the 2024 World Travel Tech Awards, and Europe's Best three years running.

Next time you fly from Zurich, open your flight on flughafen-zuerich.ch: it tells you when to be at the airport based on your boarding pass, luggage and whether you travel with children, shows the live wait time at security, and sends gate and boarding updates to WhatsApp.

My part

Frontend lead on the platform since 2023. I drove the move from Create React App to Next.js and the typed API-contract generation the team now builds on, then features like analytics, the type-ahead flight search and the Qualtrics integration. Day to day: architecture, specs and estimates, slicing the work, and keeping a small team unblocked.
